Just when you thought it couldn't get better, Shuffler ups its game! This handmade treat enables wheel builders to quickly sort nipples into a position convenient for fast pickup and lacing. Over 200 have been sold since introduction last year [2014] and no complaints! [over 1,000 by 2021]
What is new? Both the Shuffle box and the Pin Vise nipple grabber are improved. After experimentation based on builder feedback, the Shuffle box is subtly reshaped. The top of each divider now has a 45° bevel that speeds the process. Here are dividers with the new bevel awaiting assembly.
Why bevels? High tech testing suggests shuffling 50 nipples is 20-50% faster with bevels. Since the previous 200 worked great, so how valuable is this feature? Heck if we know. But it's faster and legal, so let's go with it. All Shuffle boxes now incorporate this improvement. Note a small price increase for the additional machining.
The Shuffler's companion tool (available separately as is the box) is our nickel plated brass pin vise. With 2 ground, exchangeable tips, this tool picks up nipples from the Shuffler to thread onto spokes during lacing. It is actually a 4 sized (2 collets) wrench but we only use one size for the included 13g tips. Also a big success, we sell quite a few by themselves for those with alternatives to the Shuffler.
Users (thanks Ryans!) suggested the pin vise would be more handy if it would stand up during a pause in lacing. The lovely Mulfinger tool will, if a bit unstable. The result is an added bearing that turns easily in your palm (as the previous wood handle) and looks great.
And now you can park the tool anytime during lacing, with or without a nipple on its tip.
A small price increase accompanies the bearing feature but it's more than worth it. You can now buy Shufflers and Pin Vises separately or together (with a savings).
Keep those suggestions coming. New tools and improvements to existing items are the exciting outcome.

The shuffler is a fantastic tool. Beautiful wood craftsmanship, really unique and fun to boot. Must say I was also blown away by the packaging. Proof of the attention to detail and precision you put into all your products and projects. But very impressive all the way. The shuffler became an instant favorite and, one of the few tools of interest to non-builders alike!

One little tweak I made was to put a high polish on the pin – I found the matt sanded finish would stick with some nipples, but polishing it stopped that. Apart from that, fantastic gadgets.
