We only stock silver alu nipples. Unlike some popular EU brands, these (Wheelsmith) are clear anodised for much-needed corrosion resistance. Forged from 7075 aluminum for extra strength, they offer the 30% greater thread length of our short brass nipples. With aluminum threads, this extra length is downright helpful to prevent thread failure.
Try, when possible, to use spokes long enough to occupy the entire nipple bore. When aluminum nipples break from stress, corrosion, or both; the fracture is nearly always between the saucer head and the cylindrical barrel. If your spoke passes through this area, a fracture is nearly impossible.
