This year's Handbuilt Bike Show just concluded (Feb 27- Mar 1) and top prize was again won by BC's Sam Whittingham, whose dazzling 29R, Cherry Bomb, won People's Choice, on its Ghisallo wood rims. Sam, you're unstoppable. Read his account.

On the wood rim front, Renova and Calfee each displayed wood rim equipped machines. Here's an ingenious Calfee creation in bamboo:
All in all, a mighty showing for the World's most wonderful rims. But remember, wood rims are not just a novelty. They're a practical option for many types of serious daily riding, today, just as they were for more than 70 years of touring and competition. Check them out and, if you dare, make yourself the center of attention.
